Ellington | Spinel & diamond white gold ring

Defined by its strong geometry and refined symmetry, this spinel engagement ring features an emerald step cut centre stone framed by baguette and half-moon diamond accents, handcrafted to order in our Sydney studio in your choice of 18k yellow, rose or white gold, or platinum.

This design was originally created with a natural 4.87ct steel blue-grey spinel, selected for its striking tone and clean, architectural presence.

Each spinel displays its own unique tone and character, with subtle variations in colour and light performance. The design can be recreated with a centre stone of your choice.

Each custom ring begins with the careful selection of a centre stone, sourced to align with your preferred size, specifications and overall aesthetic.

A pair of baguette cut natural white diamonds is set on either side of the centre stone, their linear form enhancing the clean lines of the step cut. Half-moon diamonds in the shoulders soften the composition, creating a balanced interplay between structure and fluidity, and lending the design a refined Art Deco character.

Elegant and distinctive, this ring is designed for comfortable everyday wear. Spinel is a durable gemstone, measuring 8 on the Mohs hardness scale, making it well suited to daily wear as an engagement ring or a striking right-hand piece.

This design can be custom made with a centre gemstone of your choice, including spinel, natural or lab grown diamonds, sapphires, morganite, aquamarine, ruby and other gemstones, in 18k yellow, rose or white gold, or platinum.

Materials and specifications

This engagement ring is handcrafted in your choice of 18k yellow, rose or white gold, or platinum, and set with natural gemstones selected specifically for you.

The original design featured a 4.87ct emerald step cut steel blue-grey spinel measuring 10.9 × 7.8mm, complemented by two baguette cut and two half-moon natural white diamonds, F colour and VS clarity, with a total diamond weight of approximately 0.32ct.

Production time and ordering
