All Lizunova pieces are designed by jewellery designer Maria Lizunova and ethically handcrafted by skilled artisan jewellers in Sydney, Australia, ensuring the best possible quality and attention to detail. We also offer jewellery remodelling, reusing the gemstones and metal from existing pieces – a wonderful way to maintain a sentimental connection with a jewel that is significant to you but may not be your style in its current form.

What is bespoke jewellery?

Bespoke jewellery is custom designed and crafted just for you. Rather than choosing from a pre-made collection, you work closely with our designer, Maria Lizunova, to create a one-of-a-kind piece that reflects your personal style, story, and preferences. Every bespoke piece is handcrafted in our Sydney studio using ethical materials and carefully selected gemstones.

How does the custom design process work?

The process begins with a consultation — either in person at our Sydney studio or online — where we explore your ideas, style, and vision. From there, we create hand-drawn design sketches and source a selection of stones for your consideration. Once a final concept is chosen, we create detailed 3D drawings (and a wax model if desired), and then, once you approve these, we handcraft the final piece in precious metal in our Sydney studio.

How long does it take to create a custom piece?

Most bespoke jewellery pieces take between 3 to 8 weeks to complete, depending on the complexity of the design. We recommend getting in touch early, especially if you have a special date in mind, to ensure your piece is ready in time.

Can I choose my own gemstone?

Yes. We offer a curated collection of handpicked sapphires, GIA-certified diamonds, and coloured gemstones. Maria personally selects each gem for its beauty, quality, and suitability for your design. If you have a specific gemstone or colour in mind, we’re happy to custom-source it for you.

Do you use ethically sourced materials?

Absolutely. Ethical sourcing is central to everything we do. Our custom jewellery is made from Australian precious metals and set with conflict-free diamonds and responsibly sourced gemstones. All our pieces are handcrafted locally in Sydney by skilled artisan jewellers.

Is the bespoke jewellery service available outside Sydney?

Yes. We regularly work with clients across Australia and internationally. Virtual consultations, detailed sketches, videos, and photos ensure a smooth, collaborative design experience — no matter where you are. Finished pieces are shipped securely via insured courier.

Can I see design sketches before committing?

Yes. After your initial consultation, Maria will present a series of hand-drawn sketches based on your brief. You’ll have the opportunity to review and refine the design before we move forward. There’s no obligation to proceed until you’re completely happy with the concept.

How much does a custom piece of jewellery cost?

Pricing depends on the design, materials, and gemstones chosen. We’ll always work within your budget, and will offer you options tailored to your preferences and price range during the consultation. There are no hidden fees — we value transparency at every step.

Can you redesign or remodel existing jewellery?

Yes, we offer a redesign service where we can reimagine your existing jewellery into something new and meaningful. Whether it’s an heirloom you’d like to modernise or a piece that no longer suits your style, we’ll work with you to breathe new life into it.

What types of custom jewellery can I create?

While engagement rings and wedding bands are among our most requested bespoke pieces, we also design custom necklaces, earrings, bracelets, and meaningful keepsakes for anniversaries, birthdays, or personal milestones. If you can dream it, we can bring it to life.
