Natural sapphires are prized for their extraordinary beauty, remarkable durability and exceptional diversity of colour. We specialise in Australian sapphires, renowned for their distinctive teal, parti, green and blue hues, as well as exceptional sapphires from Sri Lanka (Ceylon), Madagascar and Montana. Every sapphire is personally handpicked by our founder and jewellery designer, Maria Lizunova, for its beauty, colour, clarity, cut and individual character before being thoughtfully paired with a bespoke design, ethically handcrafted in our Sydney workshop. Our collection showcases blue, teal, green, parti, yellow, pink, peach, Padparadscha and champagne sapphires, with no two gemstones ever exactly alike, offering endless possibilities for creating a truly one-of-a-kind engagement ring or fine jewellery piece.
Yes. We specialise in natural sapphires, including Australian sapphires, Sri Lankan sapphires and Madagascan sapphires. Some of our sapphires are unheated, while others may have undergone standard heat treatment commonly used within the gemstone industry.
What is a parti sapphire?
A parti sapphire is a natural sapphire displaying multiple colours within the same stone, most commonly blue, green and yellow. Australian parti sapphires are especially prized for their unique colour zoning and one-of-a-kind character. We specialise in jewellery and engagement rings featuring Australian parti sapphires.
What is a teal sapphire?
Teal sapphires are sapphires displaying a blend of blue and green tones. Their colour can range from deep blue-green through to lighter seafoam shades, often shifting subtly in different lighting conditions.
Are Australian sapphires good for engagement rings?
Yes. Australian sapphires are highly durable gemstones, making them well suited to everyday wear in engagement rings. They are valued for their unique colours, ethical sourcing and individuality.
Can these sapphires be set into an engagement ring?
Yes. All loose sapphires in this collection can be custom set into a bespoke engagement ring, pendant or another piece of jewellery in platinum or 18k gold.
Can I customise the ring design?
Yes. We specialise in bespoke jewellery and can create a custom ring design around your chosen sapphire. Popular styles include solitaire rings, trilogy rings, cluster rings, toi et moi rings, asymmetric designs, vintage inspired rings, and Art Deco inspired engagement rings.
Are your sapphires ethically sourced?
We place a strong emphasis on ethical sourcing and work with trusted suppliers both in Australia and internationally. Many of our Australian sapphires are sourced directly from small-scale miners and artisan lapidaries.
Are your sapphires one of a kind?
Yes. Every natural sapphire is unique. Due to natural variation in colour, zoning, tone, shape, cut and size, no two sapphires are ever exactly alike.
Do you ship fine jewellery internationally?
Yes, we offer secure worldwide shipping for our fine jewellery collection. Whether you're in Sydney, elsewhere in Australia, or overseas, we ensure your jewellery arrives safely, beautifully packaged, and ready to wear or gift.
What’s the difference between Australian sapphires and Ceylon (Sri Lankan) sapphires?
Due to the differing geological conditions, each region produces its own distinct colours. Australian sapphires tend to have deeper, darker blue-teal hues, vibrant greens and yellows, while Ceylon sapphires are known for their bright, richly saturated blues, sunny yellows, pinks that range from pastel to magenta, oranges, lilacs and purples.
Do sapphires come in colours other than blue?
Beside blue, which sapphires are traditionally known for, these beautiful gems come in all shades of teal, green, pink, yellow, peach, Padparadscha, grey, brown, orange and purple. They also come in white (colourless) and black, as well as bi colour, or parti - sapphires that display more than one colour.
Do you sell loose sapphires?
We don’t sell loose gemstones, but we would be delighted to create a bespoke ring using a sapphire you love. All our pieces are handcrafted in Sydney and designed to celebrate the uniqueness of the gem and your story.
Can I view the sapphires in person?
Yes. Appointments are available at our Sydney studio, where you can view selected sapphires in person and discuss bespoke design options.
Are emerald cut sapphires good for engagement rings?
Yes. Emerald step cut and emerald radiant cut sapphires make beautiful engagement ring centre stones, valued for their elegant proportions and timeless appearance. Emerald step cuts offer a more refined, architectural look, while radiant cuts provide greater brilliance and sparkle. Both styles pair beautifully with solitaire, trilogy, bezel-set and Art Deco inspired engagement ring designs.
What is an emerald cut sapphire?
An emerald cut sapphire features a rectangular or square outline with clipped corners and elongated facets that emphasise colour, clarity and structure. This collection includes both classic emerald step cut sapphires, known for their elegant hall-of-mirrors effect, and emerald radiant cut sapphires, which feature more brilliant faceting and increased sparkle.
